Example claim cases

Example 1:

  • Casco policy with a deductible of 320 € per claim.
  • Also motor excess insurance is valid with a limit of 320 €.
  • There is a claim that exceeds the deductible on the casco policy. Casco insurer has issued an indemnification decision.
  • Motor excess insurance pays the amount of 320 € and this marks as the end of the excess policy since the full limit has been paid out.

Example 2:

  • Also motor excess insurance is valid with a limit of 320 €.
  • There are damages only to the windshield of the insured vehicle.
  • Casco insurer has issued an positive indemnification decision but according to the motor excess insurance conditions glass damages do not qualify as insurance cases under excess insurance.
  • Casco insurer pays the claim and if there is any deductible applied then this is carried by the policyholder himself.
  • Motor excess insurance limit is not decreased and remains at 320 €.

  • Also motor excess insurance is valid with a limit of 640 €.
  • There is a claim that exceeds the deductible marked on the casco policy. Casco insurer has issued an indemnification decision.
  • Motor excess insurance pays the amount of 320 €.
  • Motor excess policy remains as valid and the remaining limit balance is 320 €.

Example 4:

  • Casco policy with a deductible of 320 € per claim.
  • Also motor excess insurance is valid with a limit of 320 €.
  • There is a claim that does not qualify as an insured event the casco insurer issues a negative indemnification decision.
  • As a result the motor excess insurance is not triggered either and the deductible must be paid by the policyholder.
  • Motor excess policy remains as valid and the remaining limit balance is 320 €.
